The renowned ActKM Conference is on again this year – over the 14th and 15th October at University House, Canberra, Australia. Well known for its high quality, this year promises another great line up of speakers.
I’m thrilled to announce that this year I’ll be facilitating the first ever Collaboration Cabaret!
Read more about this event below, or see the Conference Program. And don’t forget to keep an eye on this blog for more info.
Take part in an unprecedented and highly interactive conference event – the actKM Collaboration Cabaret! In a nutshell, participants will be invited to collaborate in the weeks leading up to the conference in creating a unique piece of entertainment to be staged on the evening of Day One. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore focused, online collaboration using a variety of Web 2.0 tools prior to the event – actively learning (or learning more) about collaboration by really doing it.
Act 1: All conference delegates are invited to join the Collaboration Cabaret Network to plan, create and prepare for Act 2 – The Performance. Working across multiple social media, actKMers can explore a new playing field to stretch those collaborative wings (Note: Talent is definitely NOT a pre-requisite to participate in the Collaboration Cabaret, but a willingness to learn and have fun is). Delivered online – from early September to 13th October 2008
Act 2: Perform the Collaboration Cabaret! This could be anything from a trivia quiz to a full blown song-and-dance extravaganza – it will be up to the participants to determine and to produce. Performed on the Evening of Day 1, 14th October 2008
Act 3: Participate in a facilitated debrief of Act 1 and Act 2, identifying in particular what the actKM community has learned or gained from the exercise. Workshop on Day 2, Wednesday 15th October
This is a multi-stage, multi-layered conference event that offers something to all members of our diverse community;
- a chance to learn about collaborating online while doing it (the best way really);
- participants with more experience have an opportunity to give their knowledge or techniques a work out while contributing to producing the first ever Collaboration Cabaret;
- all delegates, whether performing, participating or watching on, will enjoy a light-hearted celebration of the actKM community;
- the actKM community enjoys a unique opportunity to develop a new collaboration capability.
